Watch a Funny Dad Join His Nervous Daughter’s Ballet Recital

Luckily this wasn't his first exposure to the world of toddler ballet.

In a stunning display of emotional and physical skill that has charmed the internet, a Bermuda father of three hopped on stage to dance in a ballet recital alongside his nervous daughter after the little girl started to cry. Lawyer Marc Daniels, the short-wearing and admirably muscular dad in question, may not look like the type to dance ballet, but the viral video of him support his daughter (while holding a baby) represents evidence that he has some ballet game — at least enough to earn the nickname “Daderina.”

Initially, Daniels says that he thought his daughter just needed a quick hug to lift her spirits, so he walked over to tell her that he loves both her and her dance moves. But, after it became clear that she would only feel better if he literally danced with her on stage, Daniels said that he couldn’t help but go full dad and finish the routine.

“Bella was very emotional and needed hugs from her daddy,” he said. “Despite having a tantrum, I can tell she wanted to stay on stage and I didn’t want to discourage her before the big performance by making her be the only one to come off.”

Sometimes you need your dad on stage with you! Shout out to Marc Daniels for being a super dance dad! #extendedversion #inmotionbermuda #inmotionbda #dancedadsTo use this video in a commercial player or in broadcasts, please email licensing@storyful.com

According to the Daniels, he wasn’t going into the routine blind. He and Bella had actually been regularly practicing the steps at home ahead of the recital. Still, the 39-year-old says that the popularity of the video has followed him outside of the auditorium all the way into the courtroom where co-workers, bailiffs, and members of the prosecution will give him “twirls and plies as a token of appreciation.”

This could be a new chapter for Daniels though. According to The Sun, his moves were such a hit, that his daughter’s ballet school has invited him to take the stage with them again this month.
