Baby Shark’s Christmas Song Will Be Stuck in Your Head Forever

Kids, 1, parents, 0.

Super Simple Songs/YouTube

Baby Shark is back, this time with a Christmas song just in time for the holiday season. Created by a YouTube channel known as Super Simple Songs, the adorable animated video features a Santa shark singing the catchy tune, joined by elves and reindeer.

In the new rendition, titled “Santa Shark”, the popular “Baby shark, doo, doo, do-do, do-do” line is replaced by a festive “Santa shark, ho, ho, ho-ho, ho-ho.” The North Pole shark family then sings the same lyric for both the elf and reindeer sharks as they swim through the ocean (which is decorated with seashell string lights) and deliver presents to all of the undersea animals.

The original tune (simply named “Baby Shark”), which was created by YouTube channel “PinkFong” back in 2007, went viral back in August of this year. It started a nationwide phenomenon as kids and adults everywhere got the annoyingly catchy song stuck in their heads.

The new holiday release, which premiered on November 29, already has over 3.5 billion views, proving that the Baby Shark craze is still going strong. “My son watched it like 50 times today!” wrote one viewer, while another said, “The kids love this at our house! We watch it every night!”

If the response so far is any indication, “Santa Shark” is sure to be a hit with kids — just when parents thought they were finally moving on from Baby Shark. As one mom commented, “This will be playing in my nightmares.”
