New ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Trailer Reveals a Crucial Team-Up

"It's not about how much we lost. It's about how much we have left."

The new trailer for Avengers: Endgame is finally giving us exactly what we want: Tony Stark shaking hands with Steve Rogers. The bromance is on! Hell yes!

Today is the day you can finally buy your tickets to see Avengers: Endgame. To mark the occasion, Marvel released a new trailer for the film. It’s light on new details — not that we’d trust it anyways — and heavy on emotion. So while we don’t know much more about the movie, we’re even more psyched to finally watch it on April 26.

The trailer opens on a long shot of the Avengers lab, and there’s a lot of brooding going on. Black Widow is literally sitting on a bench in the rain, looking pensive. Steve Rogers stands in his rich guy bathroom, contemplating his own reflection in a shaving mirror. It’s a dark time for our heroes, fresh off their defeat at the end of Infinity War, still mourning the loss of their colleagues.

The question before them: walk away or reunite and do some literal avenging. The gang chooses the latter, despite the long odds.

“It’s not about how much we lost, it’s about how much we have left,” Tony Stark says as Hawkeye stands in a doorway and Thor summons his hammer. “We’re the Avengers. We gotta finish this,” he continues as the remaining Avengers stand up, assembled and ready to get back in the game.

Suddenly, the music cuts out, and we see a brief glimpse of Stark and Steve Rogers, two guys with a rocky past.

“You trust me?” Stark asks. “I do,” Rogers replies. They do a manly handshake and the brass-heavy score kicks in, beginning to crescendo. The Guardians of the Galaxy starship hurtles through space. Stark looks at a photo of himself and Peter Parker, the pain of losing him still fresh.

Nebula, War Machine, Thor, Rocket Raccoon, and Captain America look determined. We hear a new voice — Thanos! — taunting Iron Man.

“You could not live with your own failure,” Thanos says. “Where did that bring you? Back to me.” He emerges from a beam of light and the trailer cuts to Iron Man, sans helmet, standing among ruins as Captain America. We see the legs of three other Avengers, walking up, presumably to join him. It’s all so damn emotionally manipulative, and it’s awesome. If you’re not already psyched for this movie, watching this trailer should be more than enough to put you over the edge.
