‘Ant-Man and Wasp’ Stars Say Their Kids Don’t Care About Superheroes

Just because you're in a Marvel movie, kids might not care.

One of the funniest things about the children of celebrities, in particular, is the fact that they are often largely unimpressed by what their parents do for a living.  After all, your parents are still your parents. You probably see them at least every week, don’t necessarily ask a million questions about what they do for a living, it all feels kind of regular, and it’s not like you’re the famous one. So when actor Paul Rudd and rapper Clifford ‘T.I’ Harris explained just how lukewarm their kids are with their roles in a huge blockbuster like Ant-Man and the Wasp, it makes a little bit of sense.

This week, while on the red carpet for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Rudd explained that his kids really just want candy more than anything. Meanwhile, T.I., who had both his boys with him at the premiere, broke down how until he’s a leading man he won’t get too gassed up in his own home.

“They’re very impressed with Ant-Man. Dave [Harris’ character], not so much,” Harris explained.

When the interviewer asked, “Why not ??!!” Harris explained:

“Well he doesn’t shrink, you know? He doesn’t have a suit. You know, so you’re just a guy.”

“It’s really cool when my kids come and visit the set. It’s very exciting for me,” Rudd told an interviewer. “I show them the suit. Both of my kids have tried on the Ant-Man helmet. They’re excited for about 30 seconds, and then they want to know where the craft service is so they can go eat Red Vines and candy. And that’s really all they care about”
