Adam Sandler Hilariously Explains Why He Was Turned Away From IHOP

It was all about the milkshakes.

Working at IHOP might not be the place where one expects to get a celebrity sighting in, but when it comes to one staff member who has gone viral on TikTok, a brush with an A-lister was in the stars — to hilarious results. A hostess at IHOP posted a viral video in which she explained that she had turned Adam Sandler, of all people, away from the hot-spot restaurant (we kid) and it is hilarious.

TikTok User Dayanna Rodas shared security camera footage of herself chatting with Adam Sandler, who was hoping to be seated at IHOP where Dayanna works. Adam was there with one of his daughters but was turned away without being seated after being told there was a 30-minute wait for a table. Apparently, she had no idea she was talking to Adam Sandler until it was too late.

“Pleaseee come back,” she captioned the TikTok video. “Not realizing it’s Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30min wait and him ofc leaving bc he’s not going to wait 30mins for IHOP.”

The video went massive on TikTok, amassing more than 2.3 million likes, and was viewed over 11 million times. According to HuffPost, Adam’s publicist confirmed that it was him in the video but didn’t give many details.

The comment section was full of praise for Adam, who didn’t use the classic “don’t you know who I am” line to bump in front of other people waiting for a table.

“The fact that he just took the wait time and left instead of throwing a tantrum like regular customers do who aren’t even celebrities,” one person commented.

Another wrote, “Adam is the nicest celebrity I’ve met. He’s the most down-to-earth human. The most normal and kindest dude.”

While Dayanna said Adam left because he didn’t’ want to wait 30 minutes for a table, Adam responded to the video going viral with another take on the situation.

“For the record,” he tweeted to his 2.8 million followers, “I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes.”

Hopefully, Adam and his daughter were able to find some milkshakes that day. And we’re happy Dayanna got a great story out of this whole thing.
