How A Snapshot Of A Family At The Playground Can Help Prevent SIDS

Photos of guys with their kids are so ubiquitous on social media it can be … annoying. But what if there was a way for all those photos to do more than simply choke your newsfeed? Johnson & Johnson is glad you asked.
The health care company’s new Donate A Photo app turns all those photos into a way to raise money for worthy causes. Here’s how it works: You upload an image to the app, Johnson & Johnson donates $1 to a non-profit that you choose from a rotating list of causes.* Share that image through the app, your friends see the impact you had, they share their images, more money gets raised, good gets done in the world.
And, eventually, you see a photo of some guy with his kid that’s so cute, even you can’t get grumpy about it — like this one, from NYC-based creative director Tiago Veiga:
“This photo represents what we’re about as a family— being adventurous together. I love to create memories beyond just, ‘Hey, we traveled to this country and we took this picture by a monument.’ This picture was taken here in New York, and it wasn’t hard to make that goofy moment. To me, it says more than any type of travel memory. We were chasing each other with that tricycle and decided to take this silly family photo — it just represents our vibe, which is to be yourselves and be free and your children will love you more for it.”
Veiga’s donation goes to the American Academy Of Pediatrics’ campaign to educate new parents about infant sleep safety and stopping Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome. Because even you want your buddy (and his kid) to get a good, safe night’s sleep — right Mr. Grumpypants?
