Dad Hilariously Recreates His Daughter’s Sexy Selfies To Teach Her A Lesson

Raising a daughter can sometimes feel like a bad dream. Discovering they’re taking sexy selfies, however, is the stuff of nightmares. But for Chris Martin (a Washington dad, not the Coldplay frontman) it was an opportunity to give his 19-year-old daughter Cassie a taste of her own medicine. And like many medicines, the result was a tad bitter and could cause nausea.

After Martin discovered that his daughter was busting out bunch of sexy selfies on Instagram (and guys were posting a lot of comments), he decided not to scold her. Instead, he recreated her flirty photos himself.

Fatherly IQ
  1. Do you plan on sending your kids back to school this fall?
Yes. I trust that our schools are taking precautions.
No. We don't feel that proper precautions are in place.
I'm not sure yet. It depends on how things progress.
Thanks for the feedback!

“I took a photo that was similar to ‘throw water on the fire’ and asked, ‘What about me, guys!?’” he told the Huffington Post about his first dad duplication. Since then he’s amassed twice as many Instagram followers as his daughter, not because he’s sexy, but because he’s hilarious.

Before you try this at home, realize that Martin’s situation is slightly unique. First of all, her dad’s parody doesn’t seem to embarass or ashame Cassie. As Martin told HuffPo, Cassie could laugh about it knowing her friends were laughing too. And she’s also 19-years-old. If you discover your underage kid taking sexy selfies, you’re going to want to do a lot more than become a viral star (i.e. setting rules about safe Internet use and/or taking their phone away). But to make sure that terrible, terrifying day never comes, go ahead and print out a picture from Martin’s Instagram as a good old fashioned empty threat. Then hang it above her bed so she can have her own bad dreams for once.
