Why Your Kid Is Fascinated With Stuff In The Cupboards

There’s a reason why all little kids want to dig through the pots and pans and everything else in the kitchen: their extremely limited attention spans are captivated by objects that are nearly – but not quite – identical to each other. From their perspective, an entire aisle at the toy store is less interesting than a set of mixing bowls, but only for 2-3 minutes at a time. If you really want to hold their attention, introduce them to the concept of object permanence.
