While Sudden Infant Death Syndrome remains a mystery to doctors, research suggests that using a fan in the baby’s room can help. The study, which examined the sleeping circumstances of SIDS victims and healthy babies, found that a fan lowered the risk by 72 percent. Most theories on SIDS have to do with rebreathing of bad air, which would explain why better circulation improves outcomes. Either way, there’s really no reason not to have a fan – unless you have extremely suspicious Korean parents.
