Deal: Home Depot Has a Serious Sale Today on a Top-Line Cordless Tool Set

Milwaukee's 5-piece M18 tool set is marked down $128.

For DIYers or, really, anyone who owns a home, power tool combo kits act as a great starter set that won’t set you back. Most kits provide you with a family of tools that work on the same battery system and able-y handle a variety of tasks. While these kits are already a solid bargain, today Home Depot is having a sale on one of the better kits out there: Milwaukee’s M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit. Normally $528, the five-tool pack is on-sale today for $399 and also includes the regularly sold-separately M18 Sawzall. Not bad at all.

The M18 kit includes a circular saw, hammer drill/driver, a reciprocating saw (called the Hackzall), a ¼ inch hex impact driver, and a work light. The set also includes a pair of M18 battery packs and carrying cases and buyers also receive the aforementioned Sawzall. Overall, it’s a well-rounded starter with durable, well-balanced, and powerful tools that can handle most household tasks and regularly receive strong reviews (one member of the Fatherly staff has this kit and highly recommends it). The hammer drill (which puts out 550 in-lbs. of torque)  and two-speed impact drill (which pushes out 29,000 BPM) are two of the best on the market, while the circular saw chews through boards with ease. The bonus Sawzall is one of those tools no one thinks about as a necessity but comes in handy for nearly every task.

All in all, this is a solid buy. The tools come with a 5-year warranty and Milwaukee has more the 150 tools that work with the M18 battery system, so you can mix and match to build a better kit as you begin to take on bigger projects.
