LEGO Just Unveiled a 7,500-Piece Millennium Falcon, and It’s Spectacular
It also comes with eight minifigures including both young and old Han.
The biggest heap of junk in the galaxy it is not. To celebrate tomorrow’s Force Friday II and the impending release of the latest Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi, in December, LEGO announced the piece they’ve been teasing for months: an updated Millenium Falcon. It’s bigger and badder than ever.
What was already one of company’s largest kits at 5,195 pieces, the new Falcon now measures almost 3-feet by 2-feet (stands 8-inches tall) and is comprised of a whopping 7,541 pieces. So, yes, plan to take a few days off from work. Han and Chewy’s upgraded Corellian freighter is also more detailed and includes a concealed blaster cannon, lowering boarding ramp, and a detachable canopy. Pop off the hull panels and you can get down to making stop-motion videos of Luke wielding his lightsaber or R2-D2 fixing the hyperdrive. There’s also a gunnery station from which the mini figurines can blast Tie-Fighters while waiting to make the jump to hyperspace.
And speaking of mini figs, the new Falcon comes with eight of them: four from the classic crew (Han, Chewbacca, Leia and C-3PO) and three from Episode VII/VIII ⏤ an older Han, Rey, and Finn. Plus, BB-8. All equipped with their classic weapons.
While news of the new Falcon just dropped today, the actual kit won’t be available until October 1. Also, it will cost a handsome ransom at $800. You didn’t think 7,500 pieces come cheap, did you? That said, you can’t pre-order it but you can add it to your wishlist and check back daily to daydream.
