Fatherly is looking for a hard-working, creative, and eager Commerce Editorial Fellow to assist with our coverage of products that help improve parents’ lives.

From books and deep-dive reports to podcasts and events, Fatherly offers original reporting, expert parenting advice, and hard-won insights into a challenging but profoundly rewarding stage of life.

Role and Responsibilities

The Editorial Fellow for our rapidly expanding Commerce initiative should be eager to get their feet wet and take on a range of responsibilities within our growing coverage of gear. The successful candidate will be an efficient and capable writer with a strong understanding of journalistic norms and an eagerness to engage with experienced editors to grow a publication. The fellow should have an interest in the ever-changing e-commerce landscape and a passion for finding that perfect thing that will make Fatherly readers’ lives easier, more fun, safer, or just better-looking. There will be opportunities to pitch and write stories, in our Gear and other sections, and an entrepreneurial impulse and collaborative spirit are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Pitching, reporting, and writing original stories in concert with editors.
  • Updating and rewriting stories in Fatherly’s content library.
  • Researching products and curating recommendations.
  • Assisting with SEO research and strategy.


  • Four-year college degree.
  • Experience with a CMS.
  • The desire to help parents.

Candidates with prior experience in professional environments, a demonstrable understanding of social and search platforms, and/or a degree in journalism will be given preference.
