Commerce Editorial Fellow

Fatherly is looking for a hard-working, creative, and eager Commerce Editorial Fellow to assist with our coverage of products that help improve parents’ lives.

About Fatherly

Launched in April 2015, Fatherly is the leading digital brand for young parents. Our mission is to empower men to raise great kids and lead more fulfilling adult lives. From books and deep-dive reports to podcasts and events, Fatherly offers original reporting, expert parenting advice, and hard-won insights into a challenging but profoundly rewarding stage of life.

Role and Responsibilities

The Editorial Fellow for our rapidly expanding Commerce initiative should be eager to get their feet wet and take on a range of responsibilities within our growing coverage of gear. The successful candidate will be an efficient and capable writer with a strong understanding of journalistic norms and an eagerness to engage with experienced editors to grow a publication. The fellow should have an interest in the ever-changing e-commerce landscape and a passion for finding that perfect thing that will make Fatherly readers’ lives easier, more fun, safer, or just better-looking. There will be opportunities to pitch and write stories, in our Gear and other sections, and an entrepreneurial impulse and collaborative spirit are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Pitching, reporting, and writing original stories in concert with editors.
  • Updating and rewriting stories in Fatherly’s content library.
  • Researching products and curating recommendations.
  • Assisting with SEO research and strategy.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree.
  • Experience with a CMS.
  • The desire to help parents.

Candidates with prior experience in professional environments, a demonstrable understanding of social and search platforms, and/or a degree in journalism will be given preference.

Applicants should send a cover letter, resume, and three clips to amy@fatherly.com with “Commerce Editorial Fellow” in the subject line.
