Amy Poehler & Nick Offerman To Host A ‘Top Chef’ For Master Craftsmen

Dads who dream of doing it themselves crowd the aisles of Home Depot every Saturday. Some are handy with a miter saw, others are intimidated by duct tape. But all can agree that watching master craftsmen do their thing is compelling. At least, that’s the idea behind NBC’s new DIY-centric game show.

Parks And Recreation alums Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler (who prove the friendship of Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope was real) are set to host a six-episode reality series that focuses on eight crafty people who are tasked with making objects based on different themes. Offerman has expert credibility thanks to his famous Los Angeles woodworking shop. While Poehler just hopes to get over her fear of papier-mâché.  Think of it like Top Chef, but with nail guns instead of piping bags.

You’ve already learned how to put together a stick fort like an architect, build a complex Rube Goldberg machine, and actually use those tools in your toolkit — why not sign up to be on the show? You can demonstrate your handy acumen, win some prizes, and get to look Offerman directly in the eye  “People who make things are my favorite kind of folk,” he says. “Practical, clever and terrific in a pinch. That makes me tickled pink to have a front row seat at this prodigious display of talent, and admiring and cheering on an amazing crop of American makers. Plus, Amy and I have a strong tradition of tomfoolery so let’s see if we don’t have some good fun.”
